Everything you need to know about WordPress Post Revisions, In WordPress when you are creating post, it will be auto saved as draft and creates a post revision.

  1. Post will be auto saved every 60 seconds, We can change this time.
  2. And it can create unlimited number of post revisions, we can limit number of post revisions.
  3. And if you don’t want to have post revisions we can completely disable them.


You have to add this code to wp-config.php file which is located in root of WordPress installation.

Change the post auto save time

Limit the number of WordPress post Revisions

If you want to specify a maximum number of revisions, change to an integer/number (e.g., 3 or 5).

Disable WordPress post revisions

If you don’t want to have post revisions, just add the value as false or 0.
